abstract = {The aim of this paper is to study the degradation of a composite material under static pressure. The high pressure condition is similar to the one encountered inside hydrogen tanks. Damage modeling was used to evaluate the behavior of hydrogen tanks to high pressure. A practical approach, coupling a finite element method (FEM) simulation and machine learning algorithm (ML), is suggested. The representative volume element (RVE) was used in association with a choice of a behavior law and a damage law as an input data. Algorithms for ML classification such as K-nearest neighbors (k-NN) and a special k-NN with a dynamic time warping (DTW) metric were used. The hierarchical clustering through dendrograms visualizations allowed to exhibit the impact of composite parameters in relation to fiber, matrix properties and fiber volume fraction on the strain degradation under external static pressure. Continuing this, the optimum RVE which shows a low degradation value will be exhibited.},

The ease of grasping tourists' behaviors is facilitated by the digital traces left on social networks. Existing studies focusing on tourists' digital traces typically apply clustering algorithms to the tourism context. This paper introduces a novel measure, named tourism profile measure for determining tourism segmentation, also known as tourism profiling. The approach involves establishing a new clustering algorithm that centers on stays conducted by tourists, utilizing both the context and content of the trips. The proposed measure is then simulated and experimentally evaluated using a real dataset across various periods and diverse nationalities, particularly in the context of the French capital, Paris.},

As a result, the relevance of smart grids has significantly grown, especially in the context of regulating energy demand based on available resources. This necessitates the implementation of Demand Side Management (DSM) tools for effective regulation. While various models and architectures have been developed for smart grids, the utilization of holonic architectures remains limited in existing literature. In this paper, we propose a holonic architecture specifically tailored for smart grids, which proves to be highly advantageous. Holonic architectures are particularly valuable in smart grids as they enable seamless operation among different actors, even during technical challenges. Our proposed model consists of interconnected agents forming holons, with five agents working in tandem to ensure flexibility across multiple aspects. We have tested this model in three different scenarios. The first scenario represents a healthy grid. The second scenario simulates a grid with production mismanagement. Lastly, the third one simulates a grid experiencing a region-specific blackout. Results show how the grid distributes the available energy depending on the available production, storage (if any) and the assurance of the distribution across the various requesting holons.},

abstract = {Energy systems are often socio-technical complex systems that are facing new challenges regarding technological and environmental changes. Because of their complex nature, they cannot be approached solely through analytical modeling, hence the inefficiency of most classical modeling approaches. In this article, a Hybrid Approach based on both systemic and analytical modeling is presented and applied to a case study. From this novel approach, a model?the Multi-Institution Building Energy System?is presented. It allowed us to highlight and detail the need for greater governance of energy systems. The socio-technical solutions identified to answer the issues of governance (Accuracy, Reliability and Fairness) were DevOps methodology and the use of Distributed Microservices Architecture. Based on this framework, the design of a Decision Support System assuring and exploiting state-of-the-art scalable tools for data management and machine learning factories is described in this article. Moreover, we wish to set up the conceptual basis necessary for the design of a generic theoretical framework of optimization applicable to complex socio-technical systems in the context of the management of a shared resource.},

Those models require expertise in metering and algorithms and the equipment needs to be frequently maintained. In the context of the MAESHA H2020 project, most of the consumers and producers are isolated. Forecasting becomes more difficult due to the lack of external data and the significant impact of human behaviors on those small systems. The proposed approach is based on data sequencing, sequential mining, and pattern mining to infer the results into a Hidden Markov Model. It only needs the consumption and production curve as a time series and adapts itself to provide the forecast. Our method gives a better forecast than other prediction machines and deep-learning methods used in literature review.},

abstract = {Background
In a previous article related to ethical reflection around the study of human remains and their biological products in archaeological, ethnographic and museum contexts, a general scientific isolation - going against the common interest and leading to certain forms of misconduct - had been raised. It appeared a real need to act in the direction of transparency and a transdisciplinary union.
Methodology
This conclusion led to further reflection on the strengths and technical creation of a tool dedicated to the exchange between sciences relating to the study of man.
Results/Discussion
We propose the creation of a platform dedicated to all international scientific actors whose issues are related to research on humans. This involves proposing the development of a participatory/collaborative virtual platform on which scientific organizations would exchange their study materials, their samples, their tools, their knowledge, their reflections and hypotheses and then the resulting data in order to no longer work in isolation.
Conclusion/Perspectives
This multidisciplinary vision to the study of Man, without spatial or chronological boundaries, will be a contribution to each of the disciplines involved and the benefits of this platform are multiple. However, this coalition approach exposes academic, technical and legal difficulties and represents a real challenge because it requires profound changes.},

abstract = {Many important classes of decision models give rise to the problem of finding a global maximum of a convex function over a convex set. This problem is known also as concave minimization, concave programming or convex maximization. Such problems can have many local maxima, therefore finding the global maximum is a computationally difficult problem, since standard nonlinear programming procedures fail. In this article, we provide a very simple and practical approach to find the global solution of quadratic convex maximization problems over a polytope. A convex function achieves its global maximum at extreme points of the feasible domain. Since an inscribed ball does not contain any extreme points of the domain, we use the largest inscribed ball for an inner approximation while a minimal enclosing box is exploited for an outer approximation of the domain. The approach is based on the use of these approximations along with the standard local search algorithm and cutting plane techniques.},

By gradually changing the actual power grid system, smart grid may evolve into different systems by means of size, elements and strategies, but its fundamental requirements and objectives will not change such as optimizing production, transmission and consumption. Studying the smart grid through modeling and simulation provides us with valuable results which can not be obtained in real world due to time and cost related constraints. However, due to the complexity of the smart grid, achieving optimization is not an easy task, even using computer models. In this paper, we propose a complex system based approach to the smart grid modeling, accentuating on the optimization by combining game theoretical and classical methods in different levels. Thanks to this combination, the optimization can be achieved with flexibility and scalability, while keeping its generality.},

This term refers to an electrical optimised network integrating the behaviour and actions of users (generators, consumers, consume-actors, etc.). These power grid's upgrades aim: to improve quality and security, to reduce environmental impact, and allow consumers to play a regulation role in the system.
Current simulations are done on specific cases and with a limited evolution. A better knowledge of the smart grid structure and characteristics would give a more effective and more efficient, global modelling. Smart grids have many characteristics corresponding to complex systems. We propose to analyse these similarities to reach a better understanding and a holistic view of smart grid's concept.},

solutions have been discussed to improve buildings' energy performance [1, 4], but the actions
to take differ from one building to another. In other words, current solutions are built on
a case-by-case basis and cannot be extrapolated easily. Indeed, it is difficult to find generic
solutions due to their complexity and heterogeneity.
By placing buildings in groups and subgroups, one can define relevant energy optimization
recommendations without auditing each building individually. Because initial labels are not
always defined, clustering is relevant in our case. Since we seek for intrinsic similarities between
groups and subgroups, hierarchical clustering is needed. Buildings are described with mixed
data. They include numerical data such as surface or number of floors, and categorical data like
types of heating or insulation materials. Few clustering algorithms exist for mixed data, and
even fewer are hierarchical. In this article, we present a method for the hierarchical clustering
of mixed data based on pretopology.},

abstract = {The increasing global warming and soaring fossil fuel prices have made energy generation minimization a crucial objective. Results show how the grid distributes the available energy depending on the available production, storage (if any) and the assurance of the distribution across the various requesting holons.},

abstract = {The health and medicine sector is currently experiencing significant transformations, such as the integration of artificial intelligence in the decision-making process. In this complex system, there is a continuous data flow consisting of quantitative, qualitative, ordinal types, and time series. Hierarchical clustering is a useful tool to handle this complexity. However, clustering mixed data containing time series without distorting the inherent nature of the data poses a challenge. Although there are existing clustering techniques for mixed data or time series, the literature does not address the clustering of mixed data and time series. This paper presents several methodologies for such data clustering, including a novel algorithm based on pretopology. This hierarchical algorithm allows for customizable logical clustering, enabling health experts to better interpret and utilize the results for classification and recommendation by analyzing the hierarchy of clusters.},

Such a challenge can be addressed by an energy actor, the Trusted Third Party for Energy Measurement and Performance, by identifying consumption profiles, making diagnostics, proposing energy performance enhancement and evaluating the energy savings resulting from these changes.
A thesis was funded by such an actor to study and solve these issues.
To accomplish this, the first step is recognising the energy actors as complex sociotechnical systems and identifying the appropriate modeling approach.
In this article a detailed data infrastructure adapted to the big data challenges raised by the transformation of today's energy sectors is then proposed.
It is designed to address governance guidelines through DevOps methodology.
Finally the results of a hierarchical clustering algorithm based on pretopology are briefly presented along with future works.},

The massive amount of data generated by the propensity of tourists to share comments and photos during their trip makes it possible to model their journeys and analyze their behavior.
Predicting the next movement of tourist plays a key role in tourism marketing to understand demand and improve decision support.
In this paper, we propose a method to understand and to learn tourists' movements based on social network data analysis to predict the future movements. The method relies on a machine learning grammatical inference algorithm.
A major contribution in this paper is to adapt the grammatical inference algorithm to the context of big data.
Our method produces a hidden Markov model representing the movements of a group of tourists. The hidden Markov model is flexible and editable with new data.

However, the current supply of reserves might decrease in the following years. Hydropower technologies are often put forward as mature and low-carbon technologies able to contribute to cover this increasing need for reserves. Their flexibility and storage capability allow them to support the stable operation of the grid. The procurement of reserves being mostly market-based in Europe, the market design should send the correct price signals to encourage the participation in these markets.},

The individual behaviour is naturally an indicator of the behaviour of other tourists. The prediction of tourists movement has a crucial role in tourism marketing to create demand and assist tourists in decision-making. With advances in information and communication technology, social media platforms generate data from millions of people from different countries during their travel. The main objective of this paper is to consider sequential data-mining methods to predict tourist movement based on Instagram data. Rules emerge from those ones are exploited to predict future behaviors. The originality of this approach is a combination between pattern mining to reduce the size of data and the automata to condense the rules. abstract = {The Power grid evolves, but its structure presents several gaps with the new numerical technologies, renewable energies and electric vehicles. The literature introduces the concept of Smart Grid, a system which takes into account the behaviour and the action of its agents. Studying the smart grid through modelling and simulation provides us with valuable results which cannot be obtained in the real world due to time and cost related constraints. Nevertheless, due to the complexity of the smart grid, achieving global optimization is not an easy task. In this paper, we propose a complex system approach to the smart grid modelling, accentuating on the representation of the structure. Thanks to this combination, the optimization can be achieved on a dynamic graph taking into account changes and network errors over time, with the ability to detect them.},

abstract = {Energy and pollution are urging problems of the 21th century. By gradually changing the actual power grid system, smart grid may evolve into different systems by means of size, elements and strategies, but its fundamental requirements and objectives will not change such as optimizing production, transmission, and consumption. Studying the smart grid through modeling and simulation provides us with valuable results which cannot be obtained in real world due to time and cost related constraints. Moreover, due to the complexity of the smart grid, achieving global optimization is not an easy task. In this paper, we propose a complex system based approach to the smart grid modeling, accentuating on the optimization by combining game theoretical and classical methods in different levels. Thanks to this combination, the optimization can be achieved with flexibility and scalability, while keeping its generality},

abstract = {Many important classes of decision models give rise to the problem of finding a global minimum of
a concave function over a convex set. Since such a function may have many local minima, finding
the global minimum is a computationally difficult problem, where standard nonlinear programming
procedures fail. The two proposed methods are simple and quick, using the largest inscribed ball
and the minimal enclosing box as approximation for cutting-plane method.},

externes.},

abstract = {Smart Grid is a vague concept with little theoretical studies. We propose in this paper a state of the art on Smart Grids to clarify the concept and identify the important issues.
This term refers to an electrical network integrating the behavior and actions of users. It uses new information and communication technologies and new services combining: monitoring, control, communication and self-healing.
Current simulations are done on specific, preset cases and with a limited evolution. A better knowledge of the smart grid structure and characteristics would give a more effective and more efficient, global modeling. Smart Grids have many characteristics corresponding to complex systems. We propose to analyze these similarities to reach a better understanding and a holistic view of smart grid's concept.
The objective of this paper is to provide theoretical research themes that could help the design of a reliable and efficient Smart Grid.},
