HydroVinci is an association composed of students of the Pôle Léonard de Vinci and founded by students of the ESILV engineering school. Its goal is to gather people who want to be part of a project of creation and development. Indeed our first mission is to build from scratch two remote controlled electric boats to participate in the international competition “Hydrocontest”. During this competition, which usually takes place in Lausanne, Switzerland, engineering schools from all continents compete during a week in September.
We are free to make boats of any shape and weight we want, but some rules must be respected. Our boats must fit in a box with dimensions of 2.5*2.5*2m; battery and electric motor are imposed to us. We have to realize 3 different races: one race where our boat will have to support an additional load of 20kg, a second one with a load of 200kg. For these two races we have to cover a fixed distance in a minimum of time. The last race is based on endurance and creation, we have to cover the most distance in a certain time.
The boat must be piloted remotely from a pontoon. For the rest we are free to do as we please.
Our life in the association is not limited to the creation of the boat. Indeed we also need people to manage all the communication aspect as well as to find sponsors. For the technical aspect, the surpassing of oneself, the spirit of competition and in a goal of ecological responsibility, HydroVinci wishes to invest in this new challenge and needs a serious and regular investment of students.
